How to make a egg bounce

HOW TO MAKE AN EGG BOUNCE

Mrs Bennett put a link to Nano Girl on our slides.  Being at home can be hard to learn so I decided to see if their was something fun to do.

I found an experiment about and egg.  Usually if you drop an egg it goes SPLAT, but this experiment made the egg bounce.  I was keen to try.

First I had to find a jar, with a lid, white vinegar and an egg.  I placed the egg in the jar and covered it with vinegar,  then placed the lid on.  Now the waiting began.  I had to leave it for four days.  After 4 days I opened the lid and got the egg out, it felt soft and squishy.  I was washed it under the tap to clean off the shell and dried it in a paper towel.  Now will it work I dropped it on the bench and to my surprise it bounced!!!

Lock Down Tech

Today I made Double Chocolate Chip Muffins for my lock down Tech.

I used Mrs Bennett's recipe below and then added 1/2 cocoa and also 1/2 cup of chocolate chips.  Dad doesn't like fruit and I wanted him to try them.

Ingredients

Dry - 2 cups S.R flour of 2 cups plain flour + 4 tsp baking powder.

1 cup sugar

½ tsp salt

Wet - 100 g melted butter

1 large or 2 small eggs

1 cup milk

1 tsp vanilla essence

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 200degrees celsius. (I use fan bake)

  2. Grease 12 x muffin tims well with oil or spray or line with cases.

  3. Sift dry ingredients into a large bowl.

  4. In a small pot, melt the butter over a gentle heat.  Add milk, egg and vanilla and fruit of choice, and stir well to combine.

  5. Add the wet to the dry ingredients and fold with a fork to dampen the flour and combine...do not over mix at this point.

  6. Spoon evenly into muffin tins.  Depending on the flavour sometimes I sprinkle over choc chips, coconut, cinnamon sugar etc.

  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes until muffins are cooked in the centre and spring back lightly when pushed.

Potato In A Bucket

We are learning how to grow a potato in a bucket.

We had to use gravel, compos,t blood and bone, sand and  fertilizer.

We had to put the gravel in so the water could slowly make its way to the roots.

We had to put the gravel in first then the compost and finally our Potato.

As soon we buried the potato we put some more compost on top.

We are doing this is to help a virus that makes people lose memory. The money goes to a charity
